Boost your Immune system naturally

Boost-your-immune-system-from-home-remedy
What is Immune System?

The immune system is the body’s defense mechanism to handle invaders. It is our body’s second line of defense, after physical barriers like the skin and the mucous membranes. The immune system is located throughout the body and includes the thymus gland, the spleen, bone marrow and a vast network of lymph nodes. It comprises many cells, proteins, tissues and organs.
The immune system of a person protects him or her from being attacked by various bacteria and viruses. The best part is that we do not even know that the system is working 24/7 to keep our body free from such microorganisms that can harm us. One very good feature of the immune system is its memory. The units of the immune system are the foot soldiers who keep us away from infections and they remember the bacteria or viruses that have attacked in the past so that if they return, the body is fully prepared to handle them. The immune system consists of white blood cells such as neutrophils, monocytes, lymphocytes, eosinophils, and basophils. These white blood cells act as the second line of defense.

How does the immune system work?
The immune system performs the function of defending our body against the disease causing microorganisms. Failure of the immune system to perform its function effectively results in increased susceptibility to diseases and infections. The immune cells play a major role in preventing the entry of pathogenic bacteria and viruses into the body. These cells comprise of lymphocytes or T-cells which directly fight invading molecules and B-cells which produce antibodies that respond to harmful molecules, facilitating their removal by other immune cells. The immune system also contains phagocytic cells such as macrophages and neutrophils, which eliminate the debris created from the destruction of harmful cells and tissues at the site of infection. Impairment of any of these functions can weaken your immune system
Boosting the immune system is very beneficial and relatively easy through lifestyle changes and some simple home remedies...

Here are the top 10 home remedies to boost immunity.

Vegetables:
Vegetables such as carrots, broccoli, pumpkins, kale, beetroot, cabbage, cauliflower, eggplant, French beans, green pepper, okra, onions, tomatoes and many other vegetables are important in our diet as they have been shown to improve immunity. The regular intake of vegetables is highly recommended for a healthy body.as well as green leafy vegetables are a wonderful source of vitamins and minerals. Vitamins such as vitamin A, E, B1, B2, and B9 are found in many green leafy vegetables. These vitamins are some of the most essential for a good immune system.
Garlic:
Garlic is a natural immune booster. A 2009 study published in Environmental and Molecular Mutagenesis found that garlic enhances immune functions and has antibacterial, antifungal and antiviral activities. Its active ingredient allicin helps fight infection and bacteria. In addition, garlic has vitamins C and B6 along with the minerals selenium and manganese that help boost the immune system.Eat 2 to 3 raw cloves of garlic on an empty stomach daily.
Also, add crushed garlic to your dishes. Avoid cooking garlic too much as it can destroy its active compounds.
You can also take garlic supplements, but only under a doctor’s supervision.
Fruits:
Fruits are also a great source of vitamins and minerals. The daily intake of fruits will increase the immunity against diseases in the long run. Citrus such as oranges, mandarins, grapefruit, lemons and limes are an excellent source of vitamin C which helps maintain the body’s defence against bacterial infections. Citrus has a unique type of fiber that, in studies, appears to dramatically reduce cholesterol &  Vitamin C helps in building up immunity system naturally and acts as an antioxidant.
Turmeric:

Curcumin is the active ingredient in Turmeric, responsible for the distinct yellow colouring and the impressive list of health properties. Curcumin is anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, antibacterial, detoxifying and amazing for digestive health. Turmeric has been linked to the prevention of cancer cell growth and management of inflammatory conditions such as arthritis, asthma, eczema and inflammatory bowel disease. It is a nutritional powerhouse, rich in manganese, zinc, B group vitamins and iron. It also contains curcumin, whose antioxidant action improves the functioning of the immune system
Mashroom:
This mushroom hails from northern Japan and is recognized by the American Cancer Society to boost immunity and to limit and even reverse tumor growth.
Maitakes (and all of these great mushrooms) are high in compounds called beta glucans, which are helpful sugars (polysaccharides) found in the cell walls of bacteria, fungi, yeasts, and algae. Research from NYU’s Langone Medical Center shows beta glucans alter white blood cells and modulate immune function. They have been successfully used in combination with other therapies for high cholesterol, diabetes, Cancer, HIV/AIDS, and to boost immunity in those with chronic fatigue syndrome.
Ginger:
Studies have shown that ginger has potent antioxidant, anti-inflammatory and antimicrobial properties. It helps to boost immune function and combat cellular damage. This gut friendly spice stimulates digestion, gut motility and bowel function, while helping to relieve bloating, cramping and nausea. A recent study also found ginger to be as effective as pharmaceutical agents in relieving PMS pain in women.
Green Tea:
Green tea is considered as another source of antioxidants, polyphenols, anti-inflammatory, and anti-carcinogenic properties. Studies [14] conducted at the Department of Dermatology at the University of Alabama have concluded that green tea actually helps in boasting the immunity system. The study had also found that green tea has the ability to counteract the effects of over-exposure to UV light.
Yogurt:
Daily consumption of yogurt is one of the easiest home remedies for low immunity. Recently, it has been scientifically concluded that yogurt helps in increasing the number of L. casei in the digestive system and for the development of white blood cells and antibodies. The L casei bacteria, also known as Lactobacillus [11] casei, has been observed in the prevention of enteric infections. Yogurt has also been beneficial in fighting cancer.
Vitamin D:
According to a 2011 study published in the Journal of Investigative Medicine, vitamin D plays a key role in modulating the innate and adaptive immune responses.
A deficiency of vitamin D is associated with increased autoimmunity as well as increased susceptibility to infection. Hence, to boost your immunity, try to maintain the adequate amount of vitamin D in your body
  • As sunlight triggers the production of vitamin D in the body, expose your body to early morning sunlight for 10 to 15 minutes daily.
  • Also, include foods high in vitamin D, such as fatty fish like salmon and mackerel, organ meats, cheese, egg yolks, some mushrooms and foods fortified with vitamin D.
  • You can also take vitamin D supplements after consulting a doctor

Maintain a Healthy Weight:
One of the disadvantages of being overweight is the decreased level of functioning of our immune system. Research has shown that the immune system of overweight people was not as active as the immunity system of healthy individuals. So decreasing your weight along with balanced diet will improve your immunity. Too many fat cells trigger the release of pro-inflammatory chemicals in the body, causing chronic inflammation. This inflammation can damage your tissues, leading to a weak immune system. So always have a balanced diet to maintain your ideal weight

How to Stop Snoring Naturally

7-ways-to-stop-snoring-naturally

Snoring can result in poor sleep for you and whoever you share a room with. It is caused by the relaxation of muscles in the roof of your mouth, tongue and throat which can block your airways and cause vibration. You don’t always have to use fancy medication and drastic measures to stop it. but snoring is serious business. For one, a snoring spouse often keeps the other person from a good night's sleep.

which can eventually lead to separate bedrooms. "Snoring can create real problems in a marriage," says Daniel P. Slaughter, MD, an otolaryngologist and snoring expert at Capital Otolaryngology in Austin, Texas.
Not only is snoring a nuisance, but 75% of people who snore have obstructive sleep apnea (when breathing is disrupted during sleep for short periods), which increases the risk of developing heart disease, Slaughter says.

Snoring can have a number of different causes, including anatomical and structural abnormalities, alcohol use, smoking, obesity, allergies, upper respiratory infections (URIs) and obstructive sleep apnea (OSA)While some serious snoring conditions such as sleep apnea can require medical intervention, mild cases of snoring can often be cured by adjusting your sleeping patterns, following a few strategies and making some lifestyle changes. Here are seven ways in which you can cut out your snoring habit with simple, natural remedies.
Lose weight if you are overweight:
This will help reduce the amount of tissue in the throat that might be causing your snoring. You can lose weight by reducing your overall caloric intake by eating smaller portions and more healthy foods.
The NHS says, ‘Being overweight by just a few kilos can lead to snoring. Fatty tissue around your neck squeezes the airway and prevents air flowing in and out freely’. Eating healthily and introducing exercise into your lifestyle is a safe way to lose weight.
Change your Sleep position:
If your snoring problem is minor, this just might do the trick. The biggest difficulty may become how to keep you on your side. Using a body pillow could be useful in maintaining the position. you can recline the bed with the head up and extended, which opens up nasal airway passages and may help prevent snoring. This may cause neck pain, however." If snoring continues regardless of the sleep position, obstructive sleep apnea may be a cause. "See a doctor in this case," Chokroverty says.
 Reduce bedroom allergens:
Nasal congestion and inflammation caused by allergies is a common cause of snoring’. You can reduce the risk of allergens in your bedroom by hovering soft furnishings like curtains and carpets. You should also get a new pillow at least once every two years and change your sheets and pillowcases every 1-2 weeks.
Avoid to do things before going to be:

Bed is only use for sleeping, do not watch TV or look at your phone About an hour before bed, turn off all of your electronics and dim the lights of your phone and computer. Doctors note that our eyes are sensitive to the bluish light emitted by electronic screens.
Avoid eating within three hours of going to bed.
Avoid Alcohol is a depressant, which means it slows down your body. While this will help you fall asleep, alcohol also slows down your metabolism and interferes with your brain during its sleep cycles. Light stretching and exercising, such as an evening walk, are probably useful in getting you ready to go sleep.
Peppermint Oil and Goldenseal:
If your snoring occurs because of nasal or chest congestion, pure peppermint oil can relieve the congestion. It’s been shown to be a great essential oil sore throat relief and congestion in the nasal passageways, which in turn could be how to stop snoring for congestion issues.
Goldenseal is another supplement you can use to help relieve congestion in your chest and nasal passages and is typically found in powder, liquid or capsule form. You can even have a cup of herbal tea that contains peppermint or goldenseal. Just make sure you don’t have a tea with caffeine, as that can greatly interrupt your sleep.
Stay hydrated:
Dehydration creates thick mucus in the mouth and throat, which can stick together and cause snoring. The best way to avoid this build up is by drinking enough fluids during the day. The Natural Hydration Council recommends an intake of 2.5 litres of water for men and 2 litres for women per day. They suggest 70-80% should be drunk and the rest should be consumed through foods. Fruit and vegetables are rich in water, so make sure you’re getting your five a day..
Open Nasal Passages:

If snoring starts in your nose, keeping nasal passages open may help. It allows air to move through slower, Slaughter says. "Imagine a narrow garden hose with water running through. The narrower the hose, the faster the water rushes through."
Your nasal passages work similarly. If your nose is clogged or narrowed due to a cold or other blockage, the fast-moving air is more likely to produce snoring.
A hot shower before you go to bed can help open nasal passages, Slaughter says. Also, keep a bottle of saltwater rinse in the shower. "Rinse your nose out with it while you're showering to help open up passages," Slaughter says.
A neti pot could also be used to rinse out the nasal passages with a salt-water solution.
Nasal strips may also work to lift nasal passages and open them up -- if the problem exists in your nose and not within the soft palate.

How to Get Relief from heartburn naturally

How-to-get-relief-from-heartburn
Acid reflux and heartburn are an extremely common problem. I used to be part of that statistic; I used to have that nasty taste in my mouth and constant burning in my throat, the worst culprit for me is eating spicy foods! Eating a spicy dish is almost guaranteed to cause me major discomfort. I struggled for years with these pains. They always seemed to strike at the most inopportune times like midnight when I was sound sleep or at work or when I was with friends
I feel fairly confident in assuming that ALL of you have probably experienced the pain of heartburn at some point. but There are plenty of other foods that can set off heartburn too, like tomatoes, onions, chocolate, coffee ,alcohol  and caffeine. Other heartburn triggers include dishes high in fats, spice and oils, and certain medications.
Whatever the cause, heartburn is uncomfortable and inconvenient. Here are some natural home remedies for get rid of heartburn..

Apple cider vinegar:

Vinegar is an acid with a pH of around 5. Therefore it helps with heartburn by lowering the pH (making it more acidic) of the stomach contents to improve digestion and reduce the pressure build up we’re looking to avoid The pH of your entire stomach contents should be around 1-2 for proper digestion. Remember, this is a good thing, we want the acid levels stronger so that the food doesn’t ferment in your stomach.
So, you can help your health and many times get rid of heartburn. The ACV trick for heartburn is used by many people. While there’s no research to back it up, there’s also not really a downside to using it. Here’s how to do it:
Add 2 tsp of Braggs Apple Cider Vinegar to ¼ cup of water and drink. Repeat every 5 minutes until heartburn subsides.
Many people will even take a shot of it before meals to pre-empt the acid reflux.
Elevate your upper body:
Lying down can make heartburn worse. When it comes time for bed, adjust your sleeping surface to raise your upper body. According to the Mayo Clinic, lifting your head with extra pillows isn’t usually enough. Instead, the goal is to elevate your body from the waist up. If you have an adjustable bed, set it at a suitable angle to provide relief. If your bed isn’t adjustable, you can change the angle of your sleeping surface by using a wedge pillow.
Drink Pineapple Juice:
Drinking 4 oz. of pineapple juice after meals highly effective in reducing hyperacidity and heartburn. Pineapple contains bromelain, which is an enzyme that helps control levels of hydrochloric acid in your stomach.
Drink water with baking soda:
You might have a heartburn remedy at hand in your kitchen, without even knowing it. Baking soda can calm some episodes of heartburn by neutralizing your stomach acid. Dissolve a teaspoon of baking soda in a glass of water and drink it slowly. In fact, you should drink everything slowly when you have heartburn.
Drink Vegetable Juice:
Vegetable juices, like raw potato, celery and cabbage are very alkaline in nature and are helpful in correcting an acidic stomach. Papaya juice contains the digestive enzyme papain, which has a soothing effect on the stomach and aids in the breaking down of protein
Try adding ginger in your food:
According to a post in Harvard Healthbeat, ginger has been used as a folk remedy for heartburn for centuries. More research is needed to learn if this remedy works, but it might be worth trying.
Consider adding grated or diced ginger root to your favorite stir-fry recipes, soups, and other foods. To make ginger tea, steep raw ginger root, dried ginger root, or ginger tea bags in boiling water. It’s probably best to avoid ginger ale. Carbonated beverages are a common heartburn trigger, and most brands of ginger ale are made with artificial flavoring rather than the real thing.
Related
Drink Lemon juice:
Lemon juice has a pH of around 2, making it an acid stronger than vinegar. It also contains an added boost in lots of nutrients, especially vitamin C. So, not only can it help with heartburn, but it contains more nutrients than ACV and therefore makes a great choice when in pain. However, just like the ACV remedy, the first dose might not be enough. And you may end up drinking 2 or more glasses of lemon juice, which can be not only annoying but hard.
It’s still worth a shot. Here’s how to do it:Juice one organic lemon into a glass. If you can drink it straight, do it. Otherwise, add in ¼ cup of water and take like a shot.
Due to the organic lemon juice being so acidic, some people worry it might harm the enamel on our teeth. Unless you’re doing this daily, I don’t see it being a big issue. And, let’s be honest, if you need daily heartburn relief you really need the help at the very bottom of this post.
Fruits:

Apple
Even a slice of apple can calm down acid production and reduce the burning sensation. Apples neutralize the acid in your stomach in about 5 minutes. Braeburn or Gala apples work best. Celery sticks and cabbage will also minimize stomach..
Bananas
Acid.Bananas act as a natural antacid in the body. You can eat either fresh or dried bananas.
Grapes
Eat 10 to 20 grapes whenever you experience any type of digestion issue. Grapes are very good at relieving indigestion, as well as an upset stomach.
Avoid to smoke:

You probably already know you shouldn’t smoke. But did you know that smoking can contribute to heartburn? If you’re a smoker and you get an attack of heartburn, don’t light up. Smoking might be a go-to coping strategy when you’re uncomfortable, but it’s not going to make that burning feeling go away.

Chewing Gum:

Chewing gum stimulates the salivary flow rate, and any acid that accumulates in your stomach is washed away and cleared more quickly. Choose a sugar-free, fruit-flavored gum. Mint gums can be irritating to some people.

Things to remember:

When heartburn hits, many over-the-counter treatments, home remedies, and lifestyle adjustments may provide relief. Adjusting your daily habits can also help prevent heartburn symptoms from developing in the first place. For example, try to:

  1. Avoid common heartburn triggers, such as fatty and spicy foods
  2. Eat at least three hours before bedtime
  3. Avoid lying down after eating
  4. Maintain a healthy weight

If you experience heartburn more than two or three times a week, talk to your doctor. In some cases, they might prescribe medications or other treatments.
